VIDEOGIOCO

Hello intrepid space cowboys. I bring to you in your journeys yet another amazing thing from teh internets. This is a animation by Donato Sansone and it is very impressive. I can’t even begin to fathom how many hours it took to conceive, draw, and animate this work. Kudos to you Mr. Sansone, for bringing me and (hopefully) my loyal readers some entertainment.

I Would Buy Them All

I interrupt this regular scheduled posting day to bring you, honorable astronauts, a feast for the eyes:

Albert Exergian's Kojak Poster

Albert Exergian's Kojak Poster

I am a big fan of the current trend of designing minimalist movie posters (and the Criterion Collection video game covers as well). And (thanks to BAM’s twitter feed) I just discovered this pretty sweet collection of various artists doing just that. Via Le Blog de Bango I bring you: THINGS THAT I WOULD BUY IF THEY WERE REAL!

That is all.

Transmission over.

Dorktastic #1! EXTERMINATE! AUCTION!

Hopefully better condition Dalek's are available.

Just like Peter Dinklage, this will be short and sweet.

I wish I was rich and was able to come and go as I pleased because on the 24th of February starts the big Doctor Who auction where they’ll be selling tons of items from the show’s years of wonderful sci-fi goodery.

Yes, it’s so dorktastic, I’m making up words as I go along.

It’s going down at Bonhams in Knightsbridge. Anyone want to lend me £3,000 so I can buy myself my very own Dalek? I know I don’t have any room in my apartment but I’m thinking I need it to live now.

Cool Sci-fi Short Film

In my other life (or one of my other lives) I make film. Recently I have been attempting to force myself to learn some visual effects trickery in an effort to eventually make a short science fiction film. I also spend way too much time on the internets instead of doing things I should be doing (like drawing storyboards or posting here more). Sometimes that time spent ‘wasted’ doing random research into particle generators or wiki articles on dyson spheres leads to me finding interesting things. And here is one of them. A pretty nice short film by Dan Gaud called Leap apparently about a young boy who realizes that jumping off of high places transports him to another world filled with magic and danger. As a short its a little low on story and characterization but the things that really do work are the visuals and the obvious amount of effort that went into making this. I hope he can secure some funding to realize a longer version of this, as this is more of a proof of concept than anything else. All in all impressive work. Check it out after the break.

What if Charlie Chaplin Made The Matrix?

This is a great video by the Russian actor’s “Big Difference” showing what The Matrix might have been like had it been made in the silent film era.
